Signs and Symptoms of Allergies
When the airways in the lungs become narrow, also known as brochocontriction, this can increase the amount of mucus. As a result, the person suffering from this might experience short breath, coughing, or weezing.
There are also symptoms that arise from contact with medications. Some common medications that cause allergic reactions are aspirin and/or penicillins.
Then there are the allergic reactions to food. The symptoms from these could be anything from the following:
Diarrhoea
Itching Skin
Swelling
Bloating
Stomach Pain
Vomiting
Some symptoms can be very serious. There is a reaction to some medicines or antibiotics can cause what is known as anaphylaxis. This affects the digestive system, the circulatory system, or the respiratory system. The reaction greatly depends on the amount of severity. In extreme cases, the allergic reaction may require the use of epinephrine.
Latex can also cause an allergic reaction when in contact with skin surfaces. This reaction is known as dermatitis. It is also known as eczema. These skin allergies will typically result in rashes, inflammation, or swelling of the skin.
