Allergy Causes

There are two main types of reasons for an allergic reaction. The cause is either (1)Genetic or (2)Environmental.

Allergy Causes

Studies have shown that twins have the same allergies around 70% of the time. In addition, allergies can be the result of a person's sex, age, and heredity. The person's heredity is the main cause of allergies.

Genetic:
Studies have shown that a person's heridity plays a big factor in whether a person is allergic. Children from parents who have many allergies are more at risk for having those same allergies and allergic reactions.

Males show that they have a higher risk of allergies than females. However, females are more likely to develop some allergies, such as asthma.

Race also may play a part in the cause of allergies; however, it is difficult to tell whether areas that have a large population of one particular ethnicity is the reason and not the actual race itself.

Environment:
The environment plays a big role in allergic reactions. Especially in areas where there is more industrialization, rather than in areas that are more agricultural. This also means that areas that are more urban are more likely to play a factor in allergies than areas that are more rural.
The early exposure to the allergens may be a factor in why some develop allergies.
